E-N-T Cowichan Crayfish

Step #1

1) Slide the “Y” style eyes onto the hook.

Step #2

2) Add a base layer of thread at the bend end of the hook.

Step #3

3) Tie approx. 60 strands of squirrel tail onto the bend end of the hook.

Step #4

4) Add 2 pieces of rootbeer crystal flash to each side of the squirrel tail.

Step #5

5) Attach 2 pieces of orange/black rubber legs to the bend end of the hook.  Leave approx. 6cm of rubber legs in front of the fly.

6) Place a dab of cement for extra strength, over the rubber legs and where the eyes are to be located.

Step #7

7) Slide the eyes forward into position. **Note: Slide the eyes just far enough ahead to elevate the rubber legs. Secure with thread.

Step #8

8) Tie approx. 80 strands of squirrel tail onto the hook shank approx. 1/4 inch behind the rubber legs.

Step #9

9) Tie another 80 strands of squirrel tail onto the hook shank approx. 1/8 inch from the eye of the hook.

Step #10

10) Tie under the tail section of squirrel tail to lift the tail.

Step #11

11) Trim the tail to desired shape.

Step #12

12) Cement the tail section for strength.

Size 5.4gr  20mm length black “Y” style Eyes-n-Tubes eyes

– Tan/brown squirrel tail
– Orange/black rubber legs
– Rootbeer crystal flash
– Orange thread
